A quick evening sketch of Dante Valentine and her demon Japhrimel. I took liberties with Japhrimel's hair so he wouldn't be quite so Matrix-y with it slicked back, and I had no real clue what Dante's Necromance tattoo on her face looked like, so I winged it as well. All in all, I really like how it turned out - hopefully one of these evenings I can do a color treatment to it as well. Based on characters from Lilith Saintcrow's Dante Valentine novels, mainly "Working For the Devil". READ THEM - they're great!

But Seriously I Hope Something Eats You. >_>
Thank you. Hopefully I'll get around to coloring it soon. Thank you so much!
Color!! I'm a huge fan of this series. I love how you envisioned Dante. She's sort of Angelina Jolie-ish. Sexy but serious all at once. I never got the slicked back "neo" hair on Jaf either.

Will work for Vegemite.
Woot muffins! I was looking for somethin' like this, but all I could find were pictures of Dante from DMC...Much as I love that Dante...that wasn't what I was looking for! Y'know, you should hold a contest for a design for Danny's tattoo...I'd really like to see the results. ^_^ Thanks for this awesome work.

Can we become more than just ourselves?
Is there an answer? And if it's an honest one,
Honestly worth it's question....
There's no question.
Pretty cool.

Round we go, on crooked ways or straight,
And well I know that ignorance is our fate,
And this I hate.
i love these books, i just stumbled across them the other day and fell in LOVE with japhrimel. i remember reading that dante's facial tattoo is a caduceus - you know, that winged staff with the two snakes twisted around it that is associated with hermes?

anyway, i love this picture - great job. i like the strong lines, they really make it edgy and exciting.
I love this series! Terrific drawing!
